Lean-to
“Lean-to” showcased artists who suggest new means of support beyond physical spaces. Support can be spiritual, communal, emotional, or environmental. The curving margins of the wall text and brochure eschew the rigidity of conventional typesetting to convey a softer side of support.
At the Edge
As the title suggests, “At the Edge” presented hard-edge abstraction from 6 artists. The window vinyl installation takes advantage of the location's angular windows to wrap text across corners. The text on the windows and brochure is literally placed at the edge, but represents the way the artists in the show push the boundaries of abstraction.

Where There is Power
Where There is Power
“Where There is Power” brought together works from Miami artists in the Summer of 2021. The show discussed major systems of power and oppression: racism, law enforcement, mass incarceration, celebrity, and the military industrial complex. While the “power” in the wall text is visible, the clear vinyl “resistance” is revealed upon closer inspection (much like the viewer's experience of the exhibition). The brochure's vertical lines represent the structures of power that artists work within.
On the Road
The exhibition “On the Road II” was inspired by the Jack Karouac novel of the same title. Since Karouac's original manuscript was written on a scroll, the text was placed across many unfolding panels. One side is printed in English, the other in Spanish.
Hypersensitive Romantic
“Hypersensitive Romantic” was a solo exhibition for painter Diego Gutierrez. The artist's work exposes the process and materiality of painting. For the exhibition wall text, it was appropriate to reference the unfinished edges and collage elements of Gutierrez's style.
